Do I have to be ‘Baptist’ to visit?
No you don’t. We have many members who have come from other denominations. Everyone is welcome!!!
Where should I start if I want to come to First Baptist?
Sunday morning worship is a great place to start. We begin worship at 11:00 am (EST)
and it is a good idea to get here by 10:50am. Come to the main sanctuary doors (big white doors in front) to enter the sanctuary. A greeter will be there to give you a bulletin and answer any questions. Late- comers can easily enter the sanctuary without being noticed!
What do people wear on Sunday morning?
Every Sunday Is Casual Sunday at First Baptist! Most folks dress in casual to business casual. Many adults, youth & kids will wear shorts in the warm weather. A few members like to get really dressed up, which is always ok! We want you to dress comfortably!!
Will I be recognized or have to say anything as a visitor?
Don’t worry; you will not be put on the spot in any way! In the beginning of our service, all worshippers will be invited to stand and greet each other during the “Welcome and Greeting” time. So folks will come over to welcome you as they are greeting others at this time.
What do I do with my kids during worship service?
We have a Nursery (infants-3 yr. olds) which is staffed by caring adults that provides childcare during worship services. The Nursery is equipped with a parental notification system that can reach you during the worship service should the need arise. The nursery is located on the lower level and is accessible by stairs or the elevator.
Children who are 4yrs. old -3rd grade attend worship with adults but are invited to J.A.M (Jesus And Me), our children’s worship program. Children leave the worship service half way through, meeting leaders in the front foyer. They will be escorted to J.A.M (Jesus and Me) which is held in rooms 101 (4rs. old –K) or 102 (1st -3rd grade) on the lower level. Parents pick children up from J.A.M. (Jesus And Me) after the worship service.
